Clifton Nurseries and Quince Tree Cafe
Clifton Nurseries is Slow City Perfection!
One stop away from Paddington Station, on the Bakerloo line, you will find it, hidden away, in the heart of the Maida Vale.
You enter the nurseries via a small passageway from Clifton Villas. This opens up to an unexpectedly light and airy courtyard, surrounded by glasshouses, flowers and trees. A statue or two and some landscaped reindeer.
Beautiful. Serene. Green. It’s the perfect place to get away from the madness and chaos of the city! Especially as London’s weather can be quite unpredictable and rainy.
Quince Tree Cafe
Set towards the back of the nurseries, in a glasshouse - of course, this sun-trap is one of my favourite places for coffee, cake and calm. It's bright and airy. Buzzy, but never rushed. Perfect!
Make a day of it:
Clifton Nurseries is a five minute walk away from the Regents Canal and Little Venice. Walk along the canal to Camden and Kings Cross or make your way to Notting Hill Gate. A great walk no matter which direction you choose !
Want to be near the canal but not interested in a walk. No problem. Waterway is stunning Gastropub with a terrace overlooking the canal. Perfect on sunny days and they even have outside heating for colder days!
