The Weekend Edit: Bibliophile

This is the first of the Weekend Edits. It takes inspiration from this week’s post on Books and Reading . Hope you enjoy!

Reading and book inspiration for the bibliophile

The Scent.

The Byredo Bibliothèque candle, is all sexy leather and smokey vanilla. Light the candle when you are reading and it will transport you to a dim lit, dusky library (in Paris) with leather sofas. Dark wood. Books, floor to ceiling. The fire, lit. The mood, cosy sophistication.

The Podcast

Curated reading and listening on the weekly podcast The High Low . Hosted by journalists Dolly Alderton and Pandora Sykes, they discuss everything they have read, watched and listened to. The variety of topical news, good books, interesting podcasts and television shows will have you inspired. They often have author interviews, which are a highlight. The extensive show notes/links for every episode will keep you busy until the next episode airs.

I love that they don’t agree on everything and grapple with quite difficult/current topics.

The Book

Embrace the imperfect, simplicity of Wabi-Sabi with this gorgeous book. The photography is beautiful and it makes the imperfect covetable. Never a bad thing, if you ask me.

The Style Icon

I LOVE Zadie Smith’s writing and she always looks beautifully put together. Inspirational. Channel her red lipstick, this weekend, for the ultimate bookish sophistication.
